C♥dy's Foundation is a non-profit organization that began in August of 1997. It honors our late son and only child, Cody John, born August 19, 1990. Sadly, Cody lost a 10 day battle to an airborne virus on December 10, 1995. He was five years, three months and ten days old. The day his nurses laid him in my lap with his father and family at his side and took him off life support changed our lives forever. There is no greater, deep personal loss than that of a child. It was because of our overwhelming love for Cody that we started C♥dy's Foundation.

Our mission is to bring aid to abused, abandoned and neglected children. Since our inception, we have dealt with local and national organizations plus many non public private requests.

We hope through this expression of caring and support, these children will come to know even a small amount of the love that was routine for Cody on a daily basis.
Our deep commitment to being financially strong enables us to continually have resources available when new challenges and goals arise. Our ongoing fundraisers, annual gifts and dedicated donors who share our vision of hope remain our life source. Our volunteers are the heartbeat and energy of C♥dy's Foundation. We are proud of our motto: "Over-worked and never paid!" which allows the contributions we receive to go further. Our hand up, not a hand out approach encourages progress, much needed self esteem and confidence for our recipients.

We have accomplished much in 2008 including reaching out globally! We are now in Africa in the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement in Uganda. As 2009 approaches we are excited to have already broken ground for a community livestock project which will provide the residents a larger available food source. One of the things we're striving for is to eventually have families become self-sustaining thus creating a more stable living environment. The opportunity to partner with Jeanne and her PeopleWeaver's micro loan women's project also supports this goal. We will be hand picking/purchasing as much livestock as possible from the women who choose to raise goats, chickens, etc, for their livelihood. Not only will this insure quality livestock, it will also have a strong, positive impact towards greatly improving the women's lives plus give our organizations the chance to work together and support each other. Be watching for progress reports!

It is a privilege to have the opportunity to care for those who suffer tremendously from circumstances beyond their control. The courage of a mother in crisis or child so desperate they are forced to reach out to a stranger for help drives us on.

Would you like to join our foundation family? Whether you are our neighbor, live in another state or country, we welcome you! We have many 'fun'draising ideas for any size family or youth organizations that are great for kids and easy for parents!

Some of our youth volunteers have created their own version of 'fun'draising or clubs.
The "Self Street Starters" is one of our favorites with their one-of-a-kind event. 5 kids, 5 minute yard clean-up, $5. They cleaned up our street and others raising almost $100 in one day. A group of three neighbor girls not yet teenagers raised $18 during rush hour, one 25 cent glass of lemonade at a time. Lemonade/cookie stands are still popular!

For more information on how you can become part of the solution, sponsor/co-sponsor a child or support the micro loan project, please email Sissy. Your support will help children you may never know but whose lives will be improved through your caring generosity. Because of you, we are able to help — one kid at a time. Blessings.
